![]() Holmes the team tries to solve a few murder mysteries that all seem to lead back to an opium smuggling operation. In Remember, Remember, Lucy wakes up in the middle of the street with no recollection of how she got there or who she is! Follow along as she tries to figure out what is going on. Not to mention she is married to constable turned Scotland Yard detective Jack Kelly, who seems so swoon worthy!Īs mentioned above, The Crown Jewel Mystery is a prequel so in it American Lucy James is just arriving in London in search of finding out who her father is and gets caught up in a bank robbery. Watson is classic, of course, but I do love Lucy’s portions of the stories the most. Sometimes you’re following Lucy around and other times Watson is telling you what he’s up to. But, in the other two the chapters are told from different people. ![]() Remember, Remember is told all in Lucy’s perspective. But, I was so in to the stories and characters that I just couldn’t put the books down! Aside from The Crown Jewel Mystery which is a novella, the other two are your average sized novels in the 300 page range. Whereas, the last book I read it felt like a chore to read, I read these books in just days!Īnd while I breezed through these books, they’re not super short stories either. So as soon as I finished reading my last book, which I didn’t exactly love, I read all 3 of these books. I hadn’t had a chance to read these two when I was sent the newest story, Die Again, Mr. Authors Anna Elliott and Charles Veley (a father/daughter duo) pen the mystery series following Sherlock Holmes and his daughter Lucy James. ![]() A while ago I was sent two books from the Sherlock Holmes/Lucy James mystery series – The Crown Jewel Mystery and Remember, Remember. That’s because instead of delving in to one book, I am giving a brief overview of a book series. Yes, you guessed it right: everything /0\ Murders, anonymous letters and a cave-in in the mine are all part of this less-than-peaceful holiday :PĪ great adventure with some lovely lighter moments. My book review for you all today is a little bit different than usual. But, of course, things are not always as they seem.Ĭhristmas at Baskerville Hall: It's Christmas time and they are all invited to spend it at Baskerville Hall, invited by Sir Henry and his wife, Beryl. The Vanishing Medium: A direct continuation from 'The Sons of Helios', dealing with the sister asking Lucy's help to break the hold a fake medium has on her elderly aunt. The Sons of Helios: A stolen painting, a cult of sun worshippers with a side of thievery and murder and a possible link to the opium trade, a worthy case for our gang :P But these two together? They can stay away from troubles *laughs* A short but very thrilling story that saddened me a bit when I saw how unworthy Flynn sees himself. The Cobra in the Monkey Cage: Following the arc that began with 'Die Again, Mr Holmes', this story is complex, filled with clever twists and engaging from beginning to end.Ī Fancy-Dress Death: Another Flynn's story and I love him SO much! And I love how protective of him is Becky. The Clown on the High Wire: A weird case that ends up being linked to the one that Holmes has been working on and foreshadows the next great villain ♥ But there is so much yet to discover! I hope we'll get to know him well :) The Collected Sherlock Holmes and Lucy James Short Stories: Volume One takes the reader on a breathless journey through five connected tales, plus two Christmas bonus cases.Ī wonderful collection of short stories, each one with its own strength and magicįlynn’s Christmas: A lovely Christmas story that gives some insight into Flynn's life. But failing to bring their enemies to justice may cost them the one thing they both hold dear…Ĭan Holmes and Lucy catch a monster, or is this the evildoer who will defeat them at last? Each time they close in, a powerful criminal mastermind intervenes, and she slips through their fingers. Tracking the enigmatic killer through London Zoo, a fancy-dress ball, and a sinister occult organization, the erudite duo stays hot on her heels.
